How do I volunteer with Offutt AADD?
To volunteer with us please follow the six steps outlined below.
- Register through our site by clicking here, or through the "Register" link at the left. You must complete the entire registration process, to include activating your account, so make sure the email you put down, you have access to.
- Login to our site
- Go to our volunteer menu, select an event or position you'd like to volunteer for, making sure you understand the details of the event, then click "Register" below the event details.
- From here you can either go select more events, or once you've selected everything you want to volunteer for, click "Checkout". While yes, it is a "checkout" everything is absolutely free. (We don't ask for payment details anyways)
- Make sure your First Name, Phone #, and Email are accurate, then click "Checkout Confirmation".
- Fill in the "Verification Code" so we know you're not a robot (or at least, that you're a really smart robot) and then click "Process Registration"
Help! I need to cancel something I signed up for!
We are pleased to report, you can do this yourself with our site!
- Log in to our site.
- Go into "My Registrations" on the left.
- Select the event you want to cancel by clicking on it's name. Note: you can only cancel events in the future.
- Click "Cancel Registration"
What should I expect when I'm on duty?
Dispatchers are briefed by our Volunteer Coordinator on their precise duties prior to the shift.
Drivers are simply expected to be available, sober, and local in order to pickup individuals needing a ride.
Special event requirements will be listed in the event description, and occasionally we'll send out an email as well if needed.
Do I need to meet somewhere for my shift?
For Drivers and Dispatchers, no.
For Special Events, see event details.
Does Offutt AADD track my hours and saves?
Yes, we track hours and saves. We are currently working on also tracking mileage as well.
How are “saves” tracked?
We are currently in the process of rolling out a new "saves" tracker. At present, if you need information, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
How far does Offutt AADD travel?
We service the entire Omaha/Council Bluffs area, though if you don't feel comfortable driving to a specific part of the city, please inform the dispatcher when you are asked to drive to that area. We will not force you.
What if I get in an accident on call?
It is your responsibility to have adequate vehicle coverage. Should you get in an accident while on call, you can not fault Offutt AADD, or the USAF. Your succesful registration, including agreeing to the terms and conditions of the driving duties, is considered your waiving Offutt AADD of any responsibility.
What if someone throws up in my car?
We highly suggest having some sort of bucket/bin just in case, though this is a very rare occurrence. If someone should, the Offutt's Chief's Group will pay to have your vehicle detailed.
What if the passenger(s) I picked up is suicidal?
If your passenger ever states they are suicidal please take them to the nearest emergency room for care. Contact a Chaplain or First Sergeant immediately. Please make the Offutt AADD Council aware of the situation as soon as possible.
What if the passenger(s) I picked up is unruly or violent?
If a passenger becomes unruly or violent you may pull over and ask them to exit your vehicle. Call the police or First Sergeant if necessary. Please notify the dispatcher on duty.
What about underage drinking?
Should you learn one or more of your passengers has been drinking under age, please remember we are a confidential organization. It is not your responsibility to govern underage drinking. Should you have to drop the passengers off on base and the Security Forces personnel at the gate checks ID’s, and realizes there are people drunk under age in your vehicle; it is their problem, not yours. Simply explain you are on call with Offutt AADD and the passengers will be dealt with accordingly.
